The Club
Heritage Turned Hip
History can be kinda cool. We’re not talking about the stuff in text books you doddle over in high school, while giving the puppy eyes to your first teen crush. We’re talking heritage. We’re talking the cycle of life, of charming yesteryear, of the return of an era of elegance that’s now as rare as natural breasts in a Pilates class.
Fortunately Singapore continues to make a name for itself in the heritage boutique hotel department. The Club by Harry’s hospitality is a 22-room Ministry of Design-crafted boutique bonanza located on Ann Siang Road in the heart of a steadily gentrified Chinatown.
Housed in a 1900’s heritage building that looks a cross between a 1930s bingo hall and the White House, The Club possesses that classy mix of old and new we love when we’re on the road.
The ultra-modern, minimalist rooms are categorised like your little black book – standard and ‘signature’ – and feature complimentary Wi-Fi and massage showers in bathrooms straight out of Alice in Wonderland.
After a long day, you can sample new world Mediterranean dishes on the Terrace, before cocktails and cigars on the Sky Bar, surrounded by Singapore’s top-notch lovelies.
Who said Singapore was boring?
