Porsche Driving School, China Learn to Rip it Round a Track

[29/05/12]

Porsche has a Shanghai driving school and elsewhere in China that will push your balls through your back pocket, around Saturn and back into your mouth. At least if you talk like Jeremy Clarkson. The brand uses the Shanghai International Circuit, Beijing Goldenport International Circuit and the Zhuhai International Circuit which are all big upgrades on the Mushroom Cup you dominated in your Mario Kart heyday.

After picking the track you can then choose which course to take. You might start, for instance, with the introductory ‘Precision’ training before honing your skills on ‘Performance’. In the latter you get to tear around the circuit with instructors telling you exactly what you’re doing wrong. Gone are the days when class was an annoying interval between terrorising the playground sandpit. You'll never enjoy learning more.

You can either bomb around in your own car or in one of their training models such as the 911 Carrera S, Carrera 4S and 911 Turbo. It’s always more fun to play with someone else’s toy so we’d suggest getting behind the wheel of one of theirs. Unsurprisingly, it’s not cheap - a day of ‘Precision’ training will set you back RMB18,000 - but if you’re into Porsches you’re probably into pin-stripes, blue-tooth, and bullish markets so it shouldn’t dent your outgoings.

Born to drive.
