Feuerwear Hose Me Down

[24/09/10]

We may not fly around in a green cape or produce our own compost on the balcony, but most of us are concerned enough about the environment to believe in recycling and minimising our personal “footprint” – or at least help others try. We’re also pretty savvy when it comes to the look of our man-purses and he-bags, and don’t mind wearing our opinions on our sleeves.

Enter the fashion range by German label Feuerwear, made from…wait for it, recycled fire hoses.

Each item in their collection – which includes satchels and belts, wallets and diary covers - is not only as durable as all hell, but is as unique as the life of the fire hose from which it was made.

An innovative online shop allows you to search for particular colour and style combos, and an email alert can be set up, so you know when your favourite former fire hose items become available.

Feuerwear’s green message also continues with a partnership with DHL’s GoGreen logistics, meaning emissions from that trans-Asian flight are also kept to a minimum.

Giving the world’s fire hoses a second chance.
