Chris Bannerman and Henning Voss who founded NecesCity in 2009 will remain involved in the business on a consulting basis. We also welcome back Nick Walton, the original NecesCity editor.
We at NecesCity are tremendously excited by this new development. It gives us the resources and expertise to take NecesCity places where we haven’t yet been able to reach, and enables us to continue bringing you the latest and hottest content on the best that Hong Kong has to offer, whether that’s nightlife, entertaining, dining, events, travel, style and everything inbetween.
Richard Codron, co-founder of Localiiz, said “This is a really thrilling development for Localiiz. NecesCity is a great brand that will enable us to bring edgy and risqué content to a targeted audience in Hong Kong. We’ve got some fantastic ideas for content and giveaways, and will be reinvigorating the notorious NecesCity events for NecesCity’s members, so watch this space! However, we intend to ensure that NecesCity retains the voice that has made it so successful to date, and will be calling upon Localiiz’s expertise to take it to the next level.”
Henning Voss, co-founder of NecesCity, commented “Localiiz has made a terrific impact on Hong Kong’s digital market in the 16 months since its launch. We loved the innovation and creativity of the Localiiz team, and thought that they would be the right team to oversee the next stage of NecesCity’s development. We’re immensely proud of what we have done with NecesCity, and see Richard and the Localiiz team as being able to invest the time, capital and expertise required to ensure that NecesCity continues to move forward in Hong Kong, and into the rest of Asia and China over the coming years.”
