And the Ears

Anyone who grew up in Birmingham through the 1990s knows the name Andy Ward. His Sunday morning parties at the Marco Polo Bar were the stuff of legend, leading to higher profile gigs at superclubs like Cream, The Mud Club and Garage City. His diverse DJ style, which stretches from Chicago house beats to thrashing hands-in-the-air anthems, even found him a spot on the radio, driving the mild youth of the Midlands to a near frenzy each Friday night. Half of chart-topping duo Soul Central, Andy continues to travel the globe, bringing fresh, sweet beats to an ear drum near you.

And it’s nearer than you might think. After the success of DJ/Producer Aaron Ross’s recent visit, Andy Ward pulls a “one night only” gig, a-la-Blue Brothers, at Finds, house music’s home away from home. Soul Heaven, backed by Tai Pan Dan and Arun R (what’s with the single initial surnames in Hong Kong??) is guaranteed to leave a tingle in your mouth and a wiggle in your hips, when handy Andy takes charge on Saturday, March 6, with a night of soulful, addictive house to coincide with the Soul Heaven label’s tenth year of sweet sound seduction

House that’s deeper than a Pennsylvania coal mine.
