Sugar at EAST Just a Spoon Full of Sugar

Hong Kong’s smoking ban has put an interesting twist on the whole bar scene. Those bars and clubs that didn’t jump on terrace real estate have been left with punters stranded outside the front door in a cloud of their own carcinogens. But those that did dive for fresh air are capitalising on Hong Kong’s naturally stunning cityscape.

One of them is Sugar at the newly opened East Hotel in Tai Koo Shing. Although it’s been a while since the ‘Shing’ has headlined Hong Kong’s night life scene, Sugar has the potential to turn heads at crash test dummy speed. Located on the 32nd floor, the ultra-sexy cocktail bar has ample space inside, on tiered lounges, but the real draw card is the expansive outdoor deck, with its own cocktail bar and 180-degree views across the harbour. The menu features cocktail classics as well as a few innovative elixirs crafted especially for Sugar, as well as a tapas menu and resident DJs spinning into the night.
