Gala's Club Opens in HK Club Opens Tonight with Epic Sound System

[19/12/12]

Gala's opens tonight on Lyndhurst Terrace with a mega sound system, and we're giving away a few tickets to the opening nights. The club owners have invested over HK$4,000,000 in the sound system alone which in Hong Kong is pretty special. We'd love to see what that thing would do to a bowl of jelly at full volume, or perhaps a girl who's spent too much time under the knife. She'd be moving all over the shop.

The 3,500 square foot club's been designed by Bosco Lam, the guy behind Cubic in Macau, while the music's being curated by Ricky Stone. In April he brought us Grandmaster Flash, and more recently, he hosted PSY in Macau so you're going to see some serious names. Jermaine Dupri, for instance, is playing tonight's invite-only event followed by DJ Bento tomorrow and Andi Moor on Saturday. Credit to the owners, can you imagine going to three nights like that back-to-back?

Drinks cost roughly HK$90 which is pretty standard for Hong Kong while the signature cocktail is a Wasabi Martini. That's punchy whichever way you look at it. Best of all, we're giving away 20 tickets to DJ Bento and Andy Moor worth HK$300 each. We're splitting the entries into groups of five so the winners get to go with four of their mates. To get on the list with four of your pals, simply tell us the best hidden place in Hong Kong for cocktails. Email your answers to This email address is being protected from spambots. You get your mates in, they pay for the drinks.
