Bouchon Bistro Francais Romantic French Fare in Time for Valentines

[08/02/11]

It's almost Valentines Day and you know what they means; we let the cliché rabbit out of the bag. Suddenly all roses will be pink, chocolate boxes will be shaped like hearts and the price of AA batteries will go through the roof in preparation for the most romantic night of the year.

Restaurants and bars will be packed and everyone will be looking for the perfect romantic dinner. It doesn't get much more romantic than Parisian cuisine and fortunately a young man with a whole lot of culinary talent is about to take Hong Kong diners for a food tour of the City of Light.

Bouchon Bistro Francais, a chic, timber and glass-clad eatery, has opened in Soho under the watchful culinary eye of chef Jerome Billot. A native of Annecy in France, Jerome apprenticed under three Michelin-starred chef Georges Blanc, and now brings his own interpretation of contemporary French cuisine to Central.

Look out for the likes of Bouchot mussels served with home made frites (the perfect hangover cure), red wine braised beef cheeks with cocottes, and Mullard duck leg confit with mustard sauce. There's a great wine list of hard-to-find French drops, and you can spend what you would have paid on air tickets on something much more useful.

Batteries perhaps?
