Malaymama Who's Your Mamma?

[19/08/10]

Men like us, we consider ourselves to be, in a word, worldly. When we travel we try the local delicacies, both on the plate and on two legs, and there is one nation which boasts more than its fair share of both.

From multilingual ladies (that's right, they are tongue skilled) to some of the region's best cuisine, Malaysia's tourism tag line - “truly Asia” - is very apt. Anyone who's taken those dirt cheap flights down to Penang, KL or Langkawi, will testify that the beauties are bronzed and friendly, and the food, from stalls to fine dining, from Chinese to Malay and Indian, is varied, cheap and pretty bloody good.

When you are tired of fish ball noodles and stodgy cha siu bao, relive your Malaysian moments down in Sheung Wan, where Malaymama serves up some of the city's best laksa, squid Tung Choi and Kaya toast.

Their extensive noodle menu features some home cooked favourites like Prawn Mee, Koh Loh Mee and Ipoh Ho Fun, washed down with potent Malaysian iced coffee.

They can fill you up, they can give you a much needed spice fix, and help bring back some of those Bukit Bintang brain pics, but sorry guys; they can't help you with the ladies.

They're just a restaurant.
