The Truly Altruistic Wine Festival
According to Benjamin Franklin, “wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy” and who could argue with that? So if knowledge is power and happiness is wine, then surely knowledge about wine is only going to take you to happier places?
This month sees the first US Boutique Wine Festival, a chance to try some less-known wines and meet the wine makers, sommeliers and chefs who share your passion. The festival, held on the weekend of April 23-24 and organised by Hong Kong’s Altruistic Wines, features a grand tasting; a luncheon; and a black tie gala dinner. The Friday night tasting will feature a festival atmosphere, with 40 of the US’s best wines from California, Oregon, and Washington served with canapés by three US-based celebrity chefs. To meet those responsible for these delectable wines, an intimate lunch will be held on the Saturday at Island Tang, before a five-course black tie gala dinner, cooked by the celeb chefs and the Marriott’s culinary team and matched with leading wines, helps support the Hong Kong Cancer Fund.
So you can help those in need as well as your tastebuds.
