Emporio Antico Fine Dining Done Right

[04/10/16]

You might have noticed that the ladies like a gent who knows a thing or two about the finer things in life. Knowing which wine goes with your main is all well and good but have you thought about taking it to the next level?

Understanding luxury food, where it comes from, what makes it distinctive, and how it’s best served is only going to set you up for success, not only with the fairer sex but potentially in the corporate world too.

Perfect for date night dinners, lavish happy hours, and intimate events, Emporio Antico, one of the city’s leading luxury food purveyors, has opened its elegant Tasting Lounge in Wan Chai. Part private kitchen, part retail space, this brilliant little hideaway is the brainchild of luxury food guru Matthew Antico, whose family has been in the produce game in Australia for decades. The Tasting Lounge not only has an intimate chesterfield-lined dining room, where sumptuous tasting menus created by chefs Roland Schuller and Edgar Sanuy are served, but also boasts a tasting counter for folks looking to sample the best lobster, Marron crayfish, foie gras, black and white truffles, aged balsamic, bluefin tuna belly, vintage champagne and cognac, and Australian beef. Rub shoulders with chefs from the top restaurants and hotels in Hong Kong and Macau as you graze on artisanal condiments from Tasmania, Scottish salmon, and caviar from Iran, and pick up a few ingredients to take home, just in case that date goes better than expected.

Because breakfast always tastes better with truffle and caviar.
