Mercedes Me A Meeting of Minds

[16/11/15]

It’s amazing how well some things go together. The world is filled with examples of great combinations: vodka and olives, running and music, football and hooligans, peanut butter and ladies.

There are also lots of great examples of creative collaborations that have changed the world we live in, from Lennon and McCartney, and Orville and Wilbur Wright, to the less appreciated but equally pivotal Mulder and Scully. Great minds think alike and once humans overcome their natural inclination to go it alone, the sky is the limit.

That’s what German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz (represented in Hong Kong by Zung Fu) and restaurant group Maximal Concepts have in mind with the opening of Mercedes Me, an innovative new lifestyle and culinary experience on offer at the Entertainment Building on Queen’s Road Central. As much an event space and high end dining destination as it is car dealership, Mercedes Me will showcase the marque’s history and pedigree through lifestyle and virtual presentations, from F1 screenings and fashion shows to concept and classic car exhibitions. All this Mercedes goodness will be complemented by a carefully crafted menu of cocktails and dishes that draw inspiration from the world’s most innovative chefs and producers, and is presented on 20 meters of hand-selected, brass-trimmed marble. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner – after all you never know when you might have a hankering to buy a new SLS – Mercedes Me offers petrol heads and foodies a chance to interact under one innovative banner.

Who’d have thought it?
