27 Kebab House Opens New Kebab Shop Making Waves

[26/12/12]

27 Kebab House has just opened on Cochrane Street and has been making quite a name for itself. Cheap, cheerful and tasty, they serve pita wrapped deliciousness that feels relatively healthy. Unlike most kebabs, you don’t finish one wondering if you’ve remembered to put the toilet roll in the fridge just in case it all goes nuclear.

Their prices are also unbeatable. Kebabs range from HK$45 – 60 and they serve a great falafel plate with a Middle-Eastern salad for HK$50. The house specialities are the kofte wrap, lamb shish and chicken shish – they’re really quite tasty – so you can happily make your way through the menu. Best of all, because it’s not too greasy, you can eat at 8pm rather than the hours typically associated with the cuisine.

It’s open 24/7 and is attracting Hong Kongers in their droves simply because it’s better than its competitors. Whereas every Ebenezeer you guzzle down has you wondering how many years you’ve taken off your life, 27 Kebab House just feels right. They also keep all the sauces on the tables so you can add lashings of chilli, garlic and mint. What man could a man want?
