Semi-Permanent Conferences Inspirational Speakers Coming to HK

[10/03/11]

Semi-Permanent Hong Kong 2011 is a two-day conference that will be held at the HKCEC this Friday and Saturday. Essentially, the event will provide a platform for ‘creative’ people to talk about their lives and their work, which should be fun so long as there’s a universal ban on the phrase ‘creative juices’. Don’t be put off by the word ‘conference’ either – it’s a creative one after all - because despite health & safety laws, there’s a slim chance some of those delectable juices might rub off on us.

Semi-Permanent is a global phenomenon but this will be its first Asian edition. The 12 speakers are awesome, including photographer/filmmaker, Nabil Elderkin, who has worked with Kanye West, Black Eyed Peas and Snoop Dogg; Christian Alzmann of Industrial Light & Magic, the 40+ Academy Award-winning visual effects company founded by George Lucas in 1975 to work on Star Wars; fashion photographer of the year 2009, Kayt Jones (work pictured); Grammy award-winning graphic designer, Stefan Sagmeister… the list goes on. And it’s juicy.

Aside from the speakers, there’ll also be various installations and workshops - which though sounds about as eventful as Eden without a snake - we're convinced will be a real treat.

Go get creative – freshly squeezed.
