NEvent: Pecha Kucha

[16/06/09]

Pecha Kucha what?

Hong Kong’s local design scene is only as good as its people. So what better way to meet 10 designers x 20 images x 20 seconds than at a crash introduction, all in one place and in 4,000 seconds?

This Wednesday evening, head to Pecha Kucha – which is an echoism of “the sound of conversation” in Japanese – where 10 creative talents will come together for a “Show and Tell”. Each presenter gets 6 minutes and 40 seconds to describe his/her work, motivations and influences, with the visual aid of merely 20 images. In Hong Kong’s fifth installment of this global event, you’ll meet multi-disciplinary individuals, from architects and artists to interior and fashion designers. Included in the mix is biotech artist Elaine Young from LAByrinth, whose vial pendants containing reindeer DNA made headlines around the world, not to mention her service of preserving the genetic code of people’s pets.

Get ready for the chitter chatter of Pecha Kucha.
